|
|
ENCEE-DEKOL is dispersant and
chelating agent for all stages in dyeing textiles produced from
cotton and its blends. |

Acrylic

Clear,
Yellowish, Viscous liquid |
| Shelf Life |
: |
If it is stores in the original, sealed containers at
temperature between 5 ºC and 25 ºC, ENCEE-DEKOL has a shelf life
of at least 12 months. Once the containers have been opened,
their contents should be used up as soon as possible. They
should be tightly re-closed after each withdrawal. |

Stability |
: |
ENCEE-DEKOL offers good resistance
to acids, alkalis and electrolytes at the concentration in which
they are usually encountered in dyeing liquors. |
| Compatibility |
: |
ENCEE-DEKOL has good compatibility
with anionic and
nonionic products. It is it used together with cationic
auxiliaries, precipitations may occur in acid or neutral
solutions; but not in alkaline solutions. If the textiles have
not been adequately rinsed after dyeing and thus still contain
small amounts of ENCEE-DEKOL, which is anionic, precipitation
may occur when they are subsequently softened with cationic
products. This can be avoided by thorough rinsing after dyeing
or by adding 0.05-0.1 g/1 of ENCEELIN FB-OL to the softening
bath. |

 |
|
ENCEE DEKOL exerts an outstanding
dispersing effect on the impurities in raw cotton (e.g., waxes
and pectinates) and on the precipitates caused by hard water. It
also has a moderate chelating effect on metal ions.
As a consequence, it eliminates the
adverse effect of calcium and magnesium ions on the solubility
of anionic dyes and their affinity to cotton. It is also
responsible for the following effects if hard water is used for
dyeing :
- The color
yield attained with vat dyes of the indanthrone type e.g.,
indanthrene Blue BC, is almost quantitative
- The
formulation of calcium salts of reactive dye hydrolystates,
which are difficult to wash out, is prevented in dyeing with
reactive dyes
However, the
chelating effect of ENCEE DEKOL does not suffice to remove the
metal ions from metal complex dyes. Consequently, it does not
impair the shade and fastness properties of dyeing obtained with
reactive and direct metal complex dyes.
ENCEE DEKOL
is non-foaming and does not have any affinity for anionic dyes.
